EXCLUSIVE: LaKeith Stanfield Become the New Face of Dior
Boldly stepping into the spotlight, Dior has just announced that the versatile LaKeith Stanfield will serve as their latest brand ambassador. This move comes ahead of Jonathan Anderson's much-anticipated second men’s runway show, set to take place on January 21. Anderson is on a mission to expand his team of male ambassadors, and Stanfield is a striking addition to this elite group.
Known for his dynamic presence both on screen and in music, Stanfield attended Anderson's inaugural show in June, where he captivated attendees with his style. Since then, he has become a frequent sight at high-profile events draped in Dior, including the recent New York premiere of the film "Die My Love" in November.
At the British Fashion Awards held in December, Stanfield made headlines by being the first to don a floral-embroidered blue denim “revolution” coat paired with a matching waistcoat and light blue boot-cut jeans, an outfit also selected by Amy Madigan for the Critics Choice Awards just a week later.
Anderson expressed his enthusiasm about working with Stanfield, stating, "LaKeith possesses a unique energy that strikes a balance between spontaneity and poise. He’s truly an actor’s actor with an extraordinary range, consistently bringing unexpected and enchanting elements to each character he embodies. I am eager to collaborate with him."
This announcement marks Stanfield as the second new ambassador introduced this month, following French star Paul Kircher. Anderson is strategically enhancing his roster of male representatives after a series of notable appointments within Dior's women’s sector.
Stanfield's impressive resume includes an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of FBI informant William O’Neal in the critically acclaimed film "Judas and the Black Messiah." The actor, often referred to as a chameleon for his ability to adapt to various roles, has showcased his talents across a spectrum of genres, from the romantic comedy "Someone Great" on Netflix to the groundbreaking horror film "Get Out," as well as the award-winning series "Atlanta."
Looking ahead, Stanfield's upcoming projects include "Lear Rex," a reimagining of Shakespeare’s classic "King Lear," featuring esteemed actors Al Pacino and Jessica Chastain.
Previously known musically as Htiekal, Stanfield made a return to his musical roots last fall with the release of his single "Fast Life," featuring Kid Cudi. This marked his first major musical endeavor since signing with the prestigious Def Jam record label.
In his own words, Stanfield reflected on this new partnership, saying, "It is both humbling and inspiring to work alongside Jonathan Anderson’s insightful vision, especially within a brand whose history feels akin to art itself, where every detail transforms into design, and design weaves a compelling narrative."
But here's where it gets interesting: how do you think Stanfield’s unique artistic background will influence Dior's image? Will his style resonate with the brand’s established aesthetic, or could it push boundaries in unexpected ways? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
