Imagine giving up a thriving business that brings in a whopping ₹2 crore every month! That's exactly what an IIT Kanpur graduate did, and it's a decision that has left many scratching their heads.
Pranshi Chaturvedi, the founder and CEO of Bellish Group, shared this intriguing story on X, revealing the journey of an IITian who built a successful shoe brand but ultimately chose to leave it all behind.
But here's where it gets controversial...
According to Chaturvedi, the reason for this unexpected move was the graduate's dissatisfaction with the way his manufacturers in Surat operated. Despite the brand's impressive monthly sales, the founder decided to walk away from entrepreneurship and join a Gurgaon-based startup as an engineer.
"Now he's in Gurgaon, working as a Lead Engineer at a startup that has raised Series A funding," Chaturvedi revealed.
When asked about his decision, the IITian cited supply issues as the main reason. He simply got tired of dealing with the challenges and decided to apply his engineering expertise elsewhere.
Chaturvedi clarified that this had nothing to do with caste or community issues, but rather the founder's risk-taking capacity and tolerance for certain business practices.
Internet users were quick to react, with many expressing surprise at the idea of giving up a successful company to become an employee. Some even suggested that walking away from such success might require more courage than building it in the first place.
"Manufacturing is not a walk in the park," wrote Gaurav Sharma. "It's a sector filled with challenges, from labor issues to supplier pressures and client negotiations. It takes a certain kind of person to thrive in this environment."
So, what do you think? Was this IITian's decision a bold move or a sign of something more? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments below!
